Students of Ocean County College now have access to JSTOR's Art and Sciences Collection I. JSTOR is an archive of hundreds of scholarly journals, often dating back to the first volume of some publications. This resource will be an incredible asset to our faculty and students doing scholarly research.

This year's Nobel Prize winners have been announced; the writer Doris Lessing has been named the 2007 Nobel Laureate for Literature and Al Gore has won the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize. The library has many of their books in the collection; use the catalog to search for their works by performing an "author" search for either Lessing or Gore. September 21 is the United
Nations International Day of Peace. In honor of this day,
the Global Education Task Force is sponsoring several
events this month highlighting Peace Cultures and Religions
of the World. Everyone is invited to attend. There will also be
programming sponsored by the Center for Peace, Genocide, and Holocaust
Studies in the Solar Lounge on the 21st from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00
p.m.

Computer lab updates:
- Color printing is now available to students in the 2nd floor computer lab. The fee for color printing is .25 a page.
- Several computers in the lab are equipped with Asian fonts. Please request assistance from staff for the use of computers with Asian fonts.
- The lab will be hosting small group computer training sessions every Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the semester to help you with all of your computer needs. Sessions run from 10-12 and there is no need to register. View an informational flier here.

Six new databases have been added to the library's database collection. Students can access these databases on the Find Articles page. New databases include:
- Biography Collection Complete, featuring
full-text biographies in many areas, including history, science, the arts, politics, and sports
- Newspaper Source, offering full text access to nation, regional, and international newspapers
- Points of View Reference Center,
a full text database containing a series of controversial essays that present multiple sides of a current issue
- Professional Development Collection, containing education journals and reports
- Science Reference Center, providing access to
science encyclopedias, reference books, and periodicals in all areas of the sciences
- Topic Search, a current events
database that allows researchers to explore social and political
issues, scientific discoveries and other popular topics

With the help of Professor Linda Caltagirone, the Nursing Research Guide has been updated with a series of new websites to help students studying in the Allied Health field. Websites on dilution theory, understanding and reading EKGs, clinical lab testing, and evaluating online health resources have been added.

for the summer semester. We will be open Monday through Thursday
from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays,
